News, Songs Remind Me of You
There is a site which holds an amazing secret. It is the Warner/Chappell Music site. No! Please don’t run away!
Streaming on this site is a song we all love. That song, fellow Anniemaniacs, is Songs Remind Me Of You. One of the greatest songs our Queen has ever recorded. But it isn’t the version on Don’t Stop. It’s a demo version where Annie’s amazing voice is lower. I don’t know whether or not it’s unmixed or why it sounds so low in the production, but it’s certainly not the single edit. You need an account to listen to this version. I am so sorry. But you can take the time to register and listen for yourself!

The wonderful Anniemaniacs at Pitchfork are giving away a free download from K-X-P. K-X-P are a group with none other than Annie production genius Timo (who surely needs to introduction to Annie fans) and he’s got Annie to provide vocals for a track called Pockets.
It’s fantastic in an understated way. Enjoy!

I am of course referring to Greatest Hit. A song which samples an already amazing Madonna track and improves on it. The EP is on iTunes to download now:
And of course there is the new Remix package on 7Digital which is available to pre-order. It’s very snazzy indeed.

Don't Stop, News, Official
Crap indie bands take cover!
Annie has confirmed via both her Facebook and Twitter that the next single off Don’t Stop will be I Don’t Like Your Band. The track, produced by Paul Epworth, will only be released in Europe. It’s one of the best songs off the new album and showcases Annie’s bitchy but brainy brilliance as heard on Chewing Gum and I Don’t Like UR Girlfriend.
Hurrah! More news when I get it.

PopJustice has placed Don’t Stop at #3 in their Best Of 2009 list. It was beaten only by albums from Lady Gaga and La Roux! This makes two years in a row that Don’t Stop has featured on the PopJustice poll. Last year the aborted Island edition made it but the new definitive version gazumps it by two places. And quite right too.
Songs Remind Me Of You also made the Singles List at a very respectable #15 while Annie penned Mini Viva pop hit Left My Heart In Tokyo reached #8.

Mini Viva are a new pop duo who have just been launched on an unsuspecting British pop buying public. But what are they doing here on Anniemaniac?
Easy. Annie wrote Left My Heart In Tokyo. This is a marvellous pop anthem complete with Annie’s trademark pop genius intact. Check out the video and buy the track. Support Annie by whatever means necessary! Why?
Why?!
The science of this is simple. You buy Mini Viva tracks (some of which are written by Annie) then you help fund Annie. More money for Annie means more money to get Richard X, Paul Epworth and loads of other cool producers to collaborate with Annie. Which, of course, means more amazing Annie albums for us!

Special thanks to Anniemaniac Dennis for the tip!
* I used the word ‘heroin’ instead of ‘heroine’ because Annie’s music is very addictive and she’s our female pop hero too! How fantastic is that wordplay?

PopJustice is going to help judge a competition to remix Annie’s amazing underground smash Greatest Hit. If you want to try your luck then just click on the link and see all the wonderful prizes you can get:
Alas I am totally musically bulimic thus I will not enter this competition. My own remix of My Love Is Better turned a brilliant Annie track into a comedy nightmare. But good luck to all the Anniemaniacs who enter!
